my role as an architectural advisor to the department for education has entailed assessing the potential of sites for new schools, preparing concept designs and then providing oversight of the emerging design and construction through the procurement process.  over 10 years I have been involved in the construction of eighteen schools, ranging from special schools catering for the specialised needs of ASD pupils, to 7 form entry all-through schools, some within buildings of heritage importance.  images are of bristol cathedral primary school located within charles holden’s grade I listed masterpiece, bristol central library.
